From August 11 to 15, the National Finals of the 2024 CIMC “Siemens Cup” China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge were held in Huzhou New District, with 596 teams from 298 universities across the country. More than 2,600 teachers and students participated in 9 competitions including motion control, process industry automation, discrete industry automation (engineering practice), intelligent equipment design and digital twin manufacturing, and free exploration.
It is reported that the event is co-sponsored by the China Simulation Society and Siemens (China) Co., LTD., and is the largest and highest-specification national Class A competition in the field of intelligent manufacturing in China. “The competition aims to comprehensively train students’ comprehensive ability and systematic thinking to solve complex engineering problems, and expand the path for the school to continuously train engineering and technical talents.” The relevant person in charge of the organizer said.
During the competition, in the free exploration arena, the contestants showed their team entries to the judges on the spot, and introduced the creation story of the works and the progress of the project. A team of automation students from Anhui Institute of Information Engineering brought an automation device for use in agricultural production. “It can automatically pick, improve agricultural production efficiency, reduce labor costs, and bring significant changes to agriculture in the field of picking.” Team member Wang Yuanxin said. After 3 days of competition, a total of 60 special prizes were selected in the competition, among which the team with the first score in each event (group) was awarded the best team and awarded trophies, scholarships and scholarships for the best female engineer; The first place in the undergraduate group of process industry Automation won the special award of this year – “Shaohuihe” Award; With 5 grand prizes, 2 first prizes and 2 second prizes, Anhui University of Technology has won the first place in the national total score of the 2024 competition. “This competition has fulfilled all of our dreams.
